Wednesday A-2 will be finishing up Little Buddha. A-4 will be looking at Gandhi and India's push for independence. Then we will look at the the split of India or the partition.

Thursday  B-2 will be doing the same as A-2 and I will be collecting homework sheets.

Friday A-2 and A-4 we will be moving on to China. We will be looking at a map real quick on China. Then we will be looking at Confucius and his teachings. We will be looking at the 5 relationships that guided Chinese culture for thousands of years and even today.






Lastly we will be finishing up Confucius  and Filial Piety. Then we will be looking at Doaism.

WEEK OF MAY 30 - JUNE 2

Tuesday A-2 and  A-4 will be taking a few notes on Islam and the problems for a quiz on Thursday. We will then start looking at India.
This says it all.



We will look at Hinduism. We will take a few notes that can be found here. on Hinduism and the Caste System.

Wednesday B-2 will be doing the same.

Thursday A-2 and A-4 will take a quiz on Islam and the Middle East. They will finish notes on Hinduism and start on Buddhism. We will start Little Buddha. Here is a clip of Buddha discovering suffering.




We will get a map of India and China for homework.

Friday B-2 will do the same as Thursday

WEEK OF MAY 22 - 26

 Monday B-2 will be introduced to the Cold War.  We are then going to start the Middle East. We will be getting a homework packet. Here it is. It will be due on Friday.
Students will be given an introductory pre-quiz on Islam and be given a vocabulary word. Students will be given some notes on Islam and the 5 pillars.Here



Tuesday A-2  and A-4 will be doing the same as B-2.  Packet is due Thursday

Wednesday B-1 will have the story of Muhammad and the beginning of Islam. We will be do a little reading on him. We will review the 5 pillars of Islam.
Then we will be looking at the importance of  Arabic and the Quran. Students will be getting two homework sheets.

Friday B-2 we might be looking at the divide of Islam with Sunni and Shiites.
Not sure what will happen with Pretty Day.



Then we will be looking at Sharia or Islamic Law. I will be collecting homework packet.

WEEK OF APRIL 15 - 19

Monday will find A-2 will be taking a quiz on WWII start. They will be working on a basic outline for the pacific war. Students will then watch an overview of the Pacific Theater of War.

A-4 will be going to an assembly on Genocide



Tuesday will find B-2 will then start looking at the  pacific theater of war in WWII. We will be looking a Kamikaze, Island Hopping, Aircraft Carriers, the Bataan Death March and the brutal fighting in brutal conditions.

Wednesday is a half day. A-2 and A-4 will be going over the Pacific Theater.

Thursday B-2 will be looking at the Atomic Bomb and the feelings on both sides. We will see how they have change the world today and look at Nuclear Bombs.  Students will receive a take home test on WWII.

Friday A-2 and A-4 will be working on the same as Thursday B-2. They will also get a take home test.

WEEK OF MAY 8 - 12

Monday B-2 will go over the homework packet on WWII and dictators for a quiz on Wednesday after they finish the Hitler trial.

The ultimate take away from this activity is to discuss the age old question of " is following orders and excuse to commit heinous acts?"

Thursday A-2 and A-4  will be taking the quiz on 3 dictators and beginning of war.  Then they will continue to look at the major battles of the Europe with Stalingrad and D Day.

WEEK OF MAY 1 -5

Monday A-2 and A-4 will be getting a quick beginning  of Hitler's take over of Austria, Czechoslovakia, and Poland plus an over view of WWII. Then students will be  working on the trial. Lawyers will be taking depositions from all the witnesses. Students will be working on newspaper.  WWII homework packet is due.






Tuesday B-2 will be doing the same as Monday. The WWII  homework packet will be due.

Wednesday A-2 and A-4  will finish taking depositions from witnesses and start their trial. The witnesses will finish working on their WWII newspaper.

Thursday B-2 will do the same.


Friday A-2  and A-4 will be finishing their Hitler Trial and reviewing the holocaust. Then we will looking at the war in Europe.

WEEK OF APRIL 24 - 28

Monday B-2 will be  take a few notes about the Dictators after WWI. The notes are here.
The big 3 are: Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin We will then be looking at speeches of the three.
Students will be getting a homework packet that will be due next Tuesday. It can be found here.  It will be due next Tuesday.

Wednesday B-2  will be reading about Hitler's life.Then students will  be given a role in the trial of Adolf Hitler. Students will be working on their trial

On Monday A-2 and A-4 will be reviewing walking museum on Russia. Here is few pictures to get you started.   The last day to hand in the Research paper will be next Thursday.

WEDNESDAY IS CHALLENGE DAY

Thursday B-2 will be working on making little CIA fact cards on the main players of the Revolution.
Students will then change the lyrics of  Bob Marley's I shot the Sheriff to fit to the Russian Revolution.



Friday A-2 and A-4 will be doing the same as Thursday.  I will be collecting the last summary of All Quiet on the Western Front Chapters 9, 10 and 11.

WEEK OF MARCH 27 - 31

Monday B-2 will be going over the new weapons of war and how WWI went. They will then re act their own WWI battle.

Tuesday A-2 and A-4 will watch the movie clips from previous week on trench warefare. We will review for a quiz on Thursday. Then we will be in library for rest of period. I will be collecting 30 note cards for A-2 and 20 for A-4.

Wednesday B-2 will be doing the same as Tuesday.  I will be collecting 20 note cards.

Thursday A-2 and A-4 will be having a quiz on WWI. I will also be having a notebook check. Then the students will do a walking museum of the Russian Revolution.

Friday B-2 will do the same as Thursday.   A-2 students will be handing in summaries of AQWF chapters 7 and 8

WEEK OF MARCH 20 - 24

Monday A-2 and A-4 will are behind a little. We will look at the pictures of the WWI. Then we will takes some notes on WWI that can be found on last blog entry. Students will then be called up to look at thesis for research paper while working on a WWI map. Students will get a homework sheet on WWI. 
A-2 will pass in summaries of Chapters 3 and 4.

Tuesday B-2 will do the same.

Wednesday A-2 and A-4 will be in the library working on the research paper. Students in A-2 will have to put together 30 note cards and A-4 will have to put together 20.  I will be collecting homework sheet.  Note cards will be due next Tuesday.

Thursday B-2 will do the same.

Friday A-2 and A-4 will be looking at new weapons of war and how the war went. The will see some footage of how the war was fought and trench warfare.  Students will then reenact WWI for them selves.

WEEK OF MARCH 13 - 17

Monday A-2 and A-4 will have us playing  our game of Countries and Alliances. This will tie in with the start of WWI. A-2 will pass in summaries for chapters 1 and 2

Chapters 3 and 4 summaries will be due on Friday of All Quiet On The Western Front

Friday A-2 and A-4 will be working on a map of WWI and looking at how the WWI went and who were the Axis Powers (Central Powers) and who were the Alliance.  I will be collecting chapter 3 and 4 summaries for All Quiet on the Western Front

We will be discussing how the war went and some of the major battles and new weapons.

WEEK OF MARCH 6 - 10

Monday is a test for B-2 on Industrial Revolution. I will be collecting DBQ. Students then will be assigned a research paper and decide on a topic for Wednesday.  Students will receive a homework packet on Imperialism and WWI This will be due Tuesday next week.. Students will also receive class progress reports to sign.  We will be looking at a Haka to introduce Imperialism. Different ways to look at the world










Tuesday A-2 and A-4 will do the same as Monday. Homework packet will be due Wednesday of next week. A-2 will get their book All Quiet on the Western Front to start reading. For Monday chapter 1 and 2 summaries will be due.

Wednesday is a half day. B-2 will be working on a map of Africa. Then students will be taking some notes on Imperialism that will be found here. I will be collecting research paper topic and signed progress report.



Thursday A-2 and A-4 will do the same. If there is time left they will be put in groups and start a country and designing a flag.

Friday B-2 will be playing the international alliance game that will show what how World WWI starts.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 27 - MARCH 3

Monday A-4 and A-2 will be working on their children's book for Dalton, Pasteur, Nightingale and Darwin.  With the time remaining students will be playing a game on socialism and capitalism playing rock paper scissors.  At the end of the class, students will be getting a DBQ on the Industrial Revolution.




Tuesday B-2 will be getting their DBQ questions, but will spend the period with Ms. Nickerson who will discuss class selection for next year.

Wednesday A-2 and A-4 will be going over the DBQ questions on Industrial Revolution and then write it for Friday. Students will then be going over all that we know for a test next Tuesday on Industrial Revolution. 

Thursday B-2 will be checked for DBQ questions. They will then finish children's book on Dalton Pasteur, Nightingale and Darwin. Students will finish with the Rock Paper Scissors game on Capitalism and Socialism.  Students will be assigned a DBQ for Monday and a test on Industrial Revolution Monday. 

Friday A-2 and A-4 will be handing in their DBQ's. Ms. Nickerson will be in to discuss guidance and class selections for next year.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 13 - 17

DUE TO SNOW DAYS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WE ARE BEHIND.


Monday B-2 will finish the investment game. They will also get a homework sheet on the industrial revolution 20-3 and 20-4

Tuesday A-2 and A-4 will be going over the homework packet for WWI for a quiz on Thursday.
Students then will look at the changing world of the industrial revolution and the new cities and what came with urbanization such as police, fire departments, subways and skyscrapers. We will be looking at steam engines and their importance.




I will be collecting 20-3 and 20-4





Wednesday B-2 will do the same as Tuesday.

Thursday A-2 and A-4 will have a quiz on Industrial Revolution. Students will then be looking at Pasteur and Darwin and creating a children's book.  This will set us up for a capitalism game after vacation.

Friday B-2 will do the same as Thursday.

WEEK OF FEBRUARY 6 - 10

Monday A-2 and A-4 will present vocab words. Then we will be playing a game on how the industrial revolution started in Great Britain. The game will show how investors made money in the new technologies. I will collect homework packet on Industrial Revolution.

Wednesday A-2 and A-4 will be going over the homework packet on Industrial Revolution. We will then take a look at the crash course video we never saw. We will then be looking at improvements in the cities with subways, skyscrapers, police and fire. Students will have readings 21-2 and 3 for homework

Thursday B-2 will be doing the same.

Friday B-2 will have a quiz on the Industrial Revolution. Then we will be looking at new science improvements in areas of medicine and Darwin's Natural Selection and evolution.

WEEK OF JANUARY 30 - FEBRUARY 3

Monday B-2 will draw a person that represents the past and we will discuss the new life of the Industrial Revolution. Students will get a homework packet will be due on Friday.

WEEK OF JANUARY 23 - 27

Welcome to the 3rd Quarter

Monday A-2 and A-4 will be looking at the beginnings of the Americas with the Mayan, Incan and Aztec Empires. Then we will discuss Columbus coming to America and the Colombian Exchange. Students then will look at the Social Hierarchy of the Americas post Spanish conquest.

Students will then watch Crash Course on Latin America




Students will get a homework sheet on early empires.

Tuesday B-2 will get homework sheets. They will also start a little project of making memes on 6 of the major players in South American, Central and Latin America History. These revolutions start with Napoleon and the French and North American Revolutions.

Wednesday A-2 and A-4 will start their memes project as B-2 did.  It is also a half day. I will collect homework sheets. Students will get another small homework on Simon Bolivar and the Mexican Independence.

Thursday B-2 will complete their memes project and share them with me. I will collect homework sheets.  Students will get another small homework on Simon Bolivar and the Mexican Independence.

Friday A-2 and A-4 will finish their memes project.  I will be collecting homework sheets

WEEK OF JANUARY 17 - 20

On Tuesday A-2 will be working on the Americas by looking at what items were brought here from Europe. The Columbian Exchange. They will then work on a map of the Americas.

A-4 will be reviewing for their Mid Term Exam on Thursday.


On Wednesday B-2 will be taking their Mid Term Exam

A-2 will be learning about the America's  and the Aztec, Inca and Mayans
It is a half day.

Friday B-2 will be learning about the Aztec Mayan and Incas. They will start an activity on the Revolutions in the Americas using a Meme.

Monday B-2 will be taking a quick 10 question quiz on the French Revolution. I will also be checking the notebooks for a notebook check for a quiz grade. Then students will be  starting the America's by working on a map. The students will be getting a review sheet for the midterm.

Wednesday B-2 will be working on the Americas by looking at some different characters that were important to the Revolutions of the 1800's that were passed on from the French and American Revolution.

Friday B-2 will be starting their review for their exam on Tuesday the 18th.

WEEK OF JANUARY 3 - 6

Monday B-2 will see us working on a worksheet on the French Revolution. This will be a review of the French Revolution.

After the review we will learn about Napoleon.  We will learn about Napoleon starting with 3 people who say they are Napoleon but only one is the real deal. Students will get a homework sheet on Napoleon.
