WEEK OF JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 4

Monday will find us looking at pictures of the Industrial Revolution. Then we will be taking some notes on Social Changes for the period. Those notes can be found here on Tuesday morning. The Honors class has homework of drawing vocab words.

Tuesday the students will be making a Freyer Model. This is a visual outline of information and characteristics of the Industrial Revolution. This will be done on large white easel paper. CP1 has a vocab word due and Honors has a handout to work on.

Wednesday we will go over the homework packet and watch a short clip of Charlie Chaplin so students can see the silent movies

Thursday we are going to discuss the change in ideas of economies and look at capitalism and socialism. We will play a quick game that shows the two ideas and I add in Social Darwinism. Students will have a homework sheet on this topic.

Friday we will be discussing Imperialism and looking at maps of Africa as European countries rushed to get natural resources for their economies. This will be discussed as one of the reasons for World War I to start.

Here is the Great Silent Film star Harold Lloyd.
