Monday will find us looking at pictures of the Industrial Revolution. Then we will be taking some notes on Social Changes for the period. Those notes can be found here on Tuesday morning. The Honors class has homework of drawing vocab words.
Tuesday the students will be making a Freyer Model. This is a visual outline of information and characteristics of the Industrial Revolution. This will be done on large white easel paper. CP1 has a vocab word due and Honors has a handout to work on.
Wednesday we will go over the homework packet and watch a short clip of Charlie Chaplin so students can see the silent movies
Thursday we are going to discuss the change in ideas of economies and look at capitalism and socialism. We will play a quick game that shows the two ideas and I add in Social Darwinism. Students will have a homework sheet on this topic.
Friday we will be discussing Imperialism and looking at maps of Africa as European countries rushed to get natural resources for their economies. This will be discussed as one of the reasons for World War I to start.

WEEK OF JANUARY 24-28
This week is an industrial revolution type of week!
Monday we will be looking at the origins in Great Britain of the Industrial Revolution. We took a few small notes. This will be followed by a game on entreprenuership that reinforces the early industries of the I.R.
Tuesday we will finish our game.
Wednesday we will take a look at the more modern world of the Revolution and how women's roles changed.
Thursday and Friday the students will be working on a 3 dimensional poster that covers the important parts of the I.R.
I will not be here on Friday. I will be on a field trip with the Model United Nations.

WEEK JANUARY 18 - 21
This is a short week.
Tuesday we will be taking notes on the different lifestyles of the Pre and Post Industrial world. You can find them here.
Students have been assigned a homework packet for next Monday.
Wednesday we will be in the computer lab looking up major inventions and inventors of this period.
Thursday the students will finish up there chart and begin the assignment of creating 6 trading cards for the biggest inventors.
Friday students will finish up trading cards.

Monday, we will cover the information that is in the travel Diary the students made. We will cover the Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs and a bit of the Incans
Tuesday we will look at the Revolutions of Latin America in the 1800's with the leaders Simon Bolivar, L'Overture, Father Hildago and Dom Pedro among others.
Wednesday we will be having a quiz on the Americas. Thursday if there is snow.
