WEEK OF AUGUST 27 - 28

Welcome to the NEW SCHOOL YEAR!

Wednesday will be getting acquainted with the Class Expectations and Syllabus. These sheets need to be filled out WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS PLEASE! We will then do an activity to help students get to know each other.

HOMEWORK IS TO SIGN EXPECTATION SHEET AND GIVE EMAIL ADDRESS !

Thursday we will be looking at values and discussing how values relate to world history and how we see world history.

HOMEWORK: GET A 3 RING BINDER

 

WEEK OF JUNE 9 -13

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL BEFORE FINALS

Monday will be our last notes. We will be doing a quick look at China this week. The notes are here

We will be looking at Confucius and his 5 relationships. We will also look at Filial Piety. Then we will start a look at Taoism. 

Students will be getting the Axiom paper which will be due on Thursday for Honors and Friday for CP1.

Tuesday students will be given the Review sheet for the final exam, which is about 140 questions.

Wednesday students will finish looking at Taoism and the idea of yin and yang.  Students will use Winnie the Pooh characters to show Taoism. We will discuss Mao Zedong and the communist revolution. Lastly, we will look at the problems facing China.

Thursday and Friday we will be reviewing for the Final Exam and watching Kung Fu Panda which has  many Confucius, Taoist and Buddhist points to be reinforced.

Thursday is the Axiom for Honors and Friday is the CP1 

WEEK OF JUNE 2 - 6

Monday Tuesday and Wednesday we will be watching Little Buddha. Great movie about Buddha and the true ish story of trying to decide if a little boy from Seattle is a reincarnated Lama.

They are discussing reincarnation and asking the boy to go to Bhutan. Dad is overwhelmed with what is being asked.



Thursday we will be looking at Gandhi and the English occupation.

Friday we will be discussing the Partition of India into Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. This has created huge issues that are still with us today since India and Pakistan are enemies and the U.S. is caught in the Middle.
