WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 29 - OCTOBER 3

Monday we will be finishing up the Inquisition and looking at the Reconquista of Spain. We  will be looking at monastic life and cloisters that we just started vs priest life.


Tuesday we will be monks and nuns  in a monastery.



Wednesday is the LAST DAY TO HAND IN MIDDLE AGES PROJECT WITHOUT LOSING POINTS. We will be looking at the Cathedral and the importance it held. We will be looking at gothic architecture and the different parts of the cathedral.




     












Thursday we will finish up the cathedral activity.

Friday will be an activity on the Crusades or the religious war.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 22 - 26

Monday will find us finishing the movie on Castles.

Tuesday will find us going over homework packet. We will then look at the plague or black death.





Wednesday will be a quiz on the homework packet. It is also a half day.

Thursday we will be looking at the other major factor of the Middle Ages: The Roman Catholic Church.  We will be taking some note. These notes can be found here.

Friday we will becoming monks and nuns and learning about the monastic life. We will be  illuminating manuscripts and listening to Gregorian chants with our vows of silence.

Monday we will be working on our castles and castle designs.

Tuesday we will be getting a project on the Middle Ages that will see us creating a fictional medieval character. Here are the directions

Thursday and Friday will find us working on our research on our character.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 8 - 12

Monday will find us working on a map that goes with the homework packet that I will collect on Friday.  We will also start some notes on Middle Ages. They can be found here.

I will be collecting scrapbooks on Monday.

NO SCHOOL ON TUESDAY!

SEPTEMBER 11 IS RED WHITE AND BLUE DAY.

We will also be conducting a item drive for soldiers abroad. Please give. It will last for the next 3 days!

    Wednesday we will finish the notes. Students will then receive a vocabulary word that they must draw the definition of the word.

    Thursday we will look at the hierarchy of Feudalism and the manor, one of the two major factors of the Middle Ages. The second part of the period will have us looking at castles.



    Friday will find me collecting the homework packet and we will finish looking at castles. Students will be designing their own castles.

    WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2 - 5

    Tuesday we will finish going over values and how they relate to how we see World Studies.  I will be handing out the scrapbook activity/quiz. The direction sheet can be found here.

    THIS WILL BE DUE ON MONDAY SEPT. 8

    This is done to give the students an idea of how history is gathered, how it is incomplete and bias.


    On Wednesday we will work on the Nacerima  and Rac activity.

    Thursday we will be looking at a map and seeing what students know and remember about Geography. We will  then find us brainstorming things we know about the Middle Ages.

    The students will get a homework packet due next Friday.

    Friday will find us taking a few notes on the Middle Ages. The theme will be 1000 years of little change and two main factors: the manor and religion.

     Life in the Middle Ages could be tough, but so were its sports.
