WEEK OF DECEMBER 16 - 20


Monday will find us going over the time line of the French Revolution. Here again is why it it started. Plus they were watching what was going on in the USA.

Students will be put in groups and will write an epic Rap Battle between Monarchists and Revolutionaries.
Students will work on these  in class. Some students will choose to make a newspaper instead of the rap.


Tuesday will have students finishing up their rap battles and their newspapers.

Wednesday students will be presenting their raps and their newspapers. We will also be looking at Napoleon.



 Thursday we will finish up Napoleon and the end of the French Revolution and Changes in Government.





Friday we will have a test on Types of Gov't, Political Spectrum and the French Revolution.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 9 - 13

Monday will find us finishing our 9 types of government pamphlet. We will practice our types of governments symbols.

Tuesday will find us taking notes on Enlightenment and looking at the major thinkers of the 1600 an 1700's and how they influenced the USA.  The notes will be found here.
We will practice our types of government symbols.
There is a homework sheet for homework.


We will have a quiz on 9 types of government and the political spectrum. We will find us looking at Absolute Monarchy and the Reign of Louis XIV.


    
 We will finish the symbols of the 9 types of government.

Thursday will be a quiz on 9 types of government symbols. We will talk about how ideas of new government pass from Europe to the USA back to Europe.
 


Friday we will start the French Revolution and the 3 estates of France.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 2 - 6

NICE TO BE BACK! 3 WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS BREAK!

Our new unit is Revolution in Government. We have talked about revolutions in religion, art and music/culture and now it is governments turn.

Monday students will be introduced to the political spectrum. They will learn what a liberal, conservative, reactionary and radical is. They will see these terms on a continuum from right to left.
The students will take a personal test and discover if they are liberal or conservative on issues.

Tuesday we will go over the quiz answers and score it. We will discuss some of the questions. Students will be introduced to nine types of government. They will create hand signals to represent each type of government. Students will be given a  Homework packet that will be due next Tuesday.

Wednesday will find us going over the hand signals and practicing them.   Students will then be in groups creating a pamphlet on the nine types of government.

Thursday students will finish pamphlet on the nine types of government. They will also practice the hand signals for the 9 types of government.  Students will be introduced to the enlightenment and the ideas of where modern republics came from.

Answers: a = monarchy; b = communism; c = democracy;  d = theocracy;  e. = parliment; f = republic  g= totalitarian.

Friday we will have a quiz on the 9 types of governments. We will finish the notes on Enlightenment and the discussion of why we had to change government from a monarchy.
