Tuesday will find us looking at Islamic art. Students will see that the Koran will not allow people to be drawn and that the art is very math oriented. We will also look at the problems of the Middle East today. Notes will be put here.

Wednesday we will go over the homework packet for the quiz. We will look at how Shiite and Sunni issues confuse the region along with Israel and Palestinians. This will also be related back to the cold war.

Friday we will look at how India and Pakistan have issues which will lead us into a look at India and Hinduism.

WEEK OF MAY 20 - 24
Monday students will get a homework packet on Islam.
Students will also get the rubric for the Research Paper.
We will be introduced to Islam and it's basic principals. The students will take some notes.
Notes are here.
Tuesday we will be finishing the notes and looking at Mohammed and his story. We will see how his story ties into the beliefs of Islam.
Tuesday we will finish Sharia law and discuss Shia vs Sunni and the conflicts that arise over this division.
Wednesday we will look at Arabic and how it is tied to the Koran and world beliefs.
Thursday we will be in computer lab typing our research paper.
Friday we will finish Arabic activity and understand the difference between Shiite and Sunni Muslims.

WEEK OF MAY 13 - 17
Monday will find us looking at the war in the pacific. We will look at the Japanese domination and the attack on Pearl Harbor. We will look at how the Japanese treated those that surrendered. We will also look at the Bataan Death March.
Tuesday we will look at Iwo Jima and the American advance on Japan. We will also look at air craft carriers and kamikaze.
Wednesday we will discuss the atomic bomb and dropping it on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We will look at the end of the war.
Today we have 20 Trident Missles on each of our Ohio Class subs with 8 warheads in each missle. Each of those 8 warheads is equilivent to 50 atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima.
Thursday we will review.

WEEK OF MAY 6 - 10
This week will start the Hitler trial. We are putting Hitler on trial for cupabliity in regards to the Holocaust. The trial will take most of the week.
There will be small homeworks done during the week.
