WEEK OF NOVEMBER 26 - 30

 Students will have a quick review of things we have discussed so far. Then the students will be taking a quick look at the revolution in science that came along with the Renaissance.  Students will be assigned a Scientist Yearbook. This is a yearbook page of 5 of the early game changes for science such as Galileo, Harvey, Bacon, Newton.


Do you know who these Scientists are? Answers are at bottom.

Albert Einstein, William Harvey (circulartory system), Edward Jenner (vaccinations), Isaac Newton (gravity and calculus), Galileo Galilei (movement of planets are orbits), Francis Bacon (scientific method)


Tuesday we will finish up the Yearbook and have students defend the choices they made. Here is the homework for CP1 and Honors: DBQ

Wednesday is a half day. Students will be going over a DBQ or document based question and how it should be written. This will lead up to test  on Friday.

Thursday will be a review for the test on Protestant Reformation, Art and Scientific Revolution.

Friday is test day.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 19 - 21

Monday will be a continuation of Presentations.
Here are a few that students choose to present:
      

Tuesday will be finishing up th activity on listening to classic music.  NO TEST!

Wednesday will be 10 minutes and we will be going over grades.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13 - 16

Tuesday we will be going over the homework packet and information from the Renaissance. We will also be going over the schools of art and how to critique art. This will get us ready for a quiz on Wednesday.

Wednesday, we have a quiz on the Renaissance and Art. The second half of the period we will be listening to major classical composers and guessing which piece of music goes with which artist. This is part of the art revolution. Below  are a few of the pieces that will be listen to:


A great American composer even though this is World History. Start with 30 seconds with Fanfare

I WILL NOT MAKE THE STUDENTS SUFFER WITH THIS TYPE OF MUSIC!

 Thursday we will be in the library researching our individual piece of art that choosen and the artist that goes with it.

Friday we will present the artist and the art work and I will be collecting the art charts with critiques.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 5 - 9

This week is election week. It is also art week.  Due to the storm we are a little behind.

Monday we will be collecting the homework packet. We will look at schools of art from classical all the way up to abstract. The students will be shown paintings from different schools of art and will be asked to tell me which school they come from. Homework will be to make your own painting/pictures from one school of art.

TUESDAY IS NO SCHOOL DUE TO ELECTIONS

Wednesday will find us looking at how to critique art. We will practice on a few paintings use the critiquing sheet.  The second half of the period will find us in the computer lab looking at art and critiquing.  LAST DAY TO HAND IN MAKE UP WORK.

Thursday and Friday will find us in the computer lab working on our art project.
