WEEK OF MAY 21 - 25

Monday will find us going over the venn diagram on Hinduism and Buddhism. We will start looking at modern India and the partition in 1947 into India, Pakistan and Bangledesh. We will be looking at maps of the partition areas.

Tuesday will find us going over a reading on the partition and seeing the division between Muslims and Hindus. We will see a quick video on the partition. Then the students will be assigned a comic book on the major topics.

Wednesday is a half day and will used to work on comic book.

Thursday will be a quiz on India and finishing the comic book.

Friday will be a fun day as it is pretty day and prom.

WEEK OF MAY 14 - 18

Monday will be an introduction to Buddhism and Buddha. We will take a few notes which can be found here.

 
Buddha's hands are open to catch wisdom along with his elongated hands. Fat Buddha is Chinese, thin Buddha is Indian.

Tuesday will be a comparison of Buddhism and Hinduism after we read a story about a dog that is a good Buddhist called Samsara Dog by Helen Manos 



Wednesday - part of Friday we will be viewing a movie that explains Buddha and Buddhism called Little Buddha.  Friday we will review what we have learned.

MAY 7 - 11

Monday will find us looking at India and working on a map.

Tuesday we will be taking some notes on Hinduism and the caste system. They can be found here.

Wednesday we will be looking at how the caste system and Hinduism are intertwined.

Thursday we will be writing a fable on Hinuism and the importance of Karma and Dharma.

Friday we will finish fables and look at Buddha
