WEEK OF FEBRUARY 28 - MARCH 4

On Monday through Wednesday, we will be playing a game that will show how alliances work. The students will become their own countries, forming alliances and seeing the dangers that these play in world politics. Eventually, they will declare war on each other, and the students will see exactly how and why WWI started.

Monday a homework packet on WWI will be assigned.

Thursday the students will be taking notes on the reasons for WWI.  The notes will be done on a handout. They can be found here on Thursday.

Friday, the students will be looking at new weapons of War. I will be calling up students to look at their research.

Friday, the honor level students will have chapters 4 and 5 due from All Quiet on the Western Front.

Here is newsreel footage of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the spark of WWI. It is silent. Sound for movies had not been invented yet.
