WEEK OF DECEMBER 20 - 24

This will be a short week.

Monday we will look at Napoleon and start an activity about who is qualified to be president?

Tuesday we will be finishing who is qualified to be president and review for the test that is on Wednesday.

Test on Government, French Revolution, Napoleon and the Unification of Italy and Germany.

Thursday some fun.

Friday, take a well deserved day off and enjoy vacation.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 13-17

Monday, we will be looking at the French Revolution. We will be making a newspaper with the major points. They will have pictures,  articles and  headlines. There papers will have a bias, which will be discussed.

Tuesday we will be finishing up the newspapers.

Wednesday we will be reviewing and going over all the material we have covered on the Types of Government, Enlightenment and French Revolution.

Thursday we will be having the quiz. Then we start to discuss Napoleon.

Friday we will finish up Napoleon with a "Which is the real Napoleon" game.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 6-10

Monday we will be finishing up Pamphlets on the 9 types of government.

Tuesday we will be taking a short quiz on those 9 types of government and will be taking some notes on the Enlightenment, American and French Revolution and Nationalism. You can find them here.

Wednesday we will finish the notes and discuss the beginnings of the French Revolution.

Thursday we will have a museum walk of the French Revolution and a review sheet on it.

Friday we will review and consolidate all the information we have learned about the enlightenment, government and the French Revolution.. This gets us ready for Napleon next Monday.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 29- DECEMBER 3

We have talked about 3 major revolutions; Religion and the Reformation, art and culture in the Renaissance and beyond and finally in Science. We are now looking at the 4th major revolution which is Government and the Enlightenment. We will be looking at different types of governments and what makes them good and bad.

On Monday, the students will be introduced to the topic of government with an activity that demonstrates the concept of what government is for. They are stranded on a planet and must come up with decisions on food gathering, shelter, decision making, rules and punishment.  The students will be creating a drawing that represents their vocabulary word on the Government Unit.

On Tuesday, the students will be introduced to the political spectrum. They will learn what a liberal, conservative, radical and revolutionary is. This will conclude with a self test that shows students if they are liberal or conservative.

On Wednesday, the students will be introduced to the nine types of government. They will be placed in groups and come up with a symbol or 2 that represents the type of government. We as a class will all learn these.

On Thursday and Friday, the students will be reviewing their symbols and working on a pamphlet on the nine types of government.

 Homework packet is due on Friday.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 22-24

This is a short busy week.

Monday is Yellow day for Freshmen. It is also a test on Protestant Reformation, Renaissance and Scientific Revolution.

Monday is decorate the hall way after school if you want to volunteer to help.

Tuesday is a book keeping day where we will empty notebooks and start a new one. I will keep all information.  Honors Class will be working on a DBQ or Document Based Question.

It is also dress like your hall which is ROCK AND ROLL.

Wednesday we meet for 10 minutes and will play trivia.
It is blue and white day. Wear your school colors and pep rally.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 15 - 19

A quick reminder that on Friday the Penny Wars start as part of spirit week that is full throttle the week of the 22. On November 22,  Monday, the students should wear yellow and if they want to stay and decorate the halls after school, people are needed.

Monday, we will be going over the last few presentations and the renaissance questions for homework last week.  We will be organizing all the information we have learned so far on the Renaissance.

Tuesday there will be a quiz on the Renaissance and Art.  We will start the scientific revolution.

Wednesday is a half day and we will look at some specific scientific accomplishments

Thursday we will continue and finish the scientific revolution

Friday will be a review day for a test on Monday that covers Protestant Reformation, Renaissance art, Art and Scientific Revolution! Wow a whole lot of information.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 8- 12

This week we will finish up the revolution in the art world as connected to the Renaissance.

Monday, we will review the art information that we know already about the different schools of art.

Tuesday, we will be looking at the revolution in music and classical music. We will play guess that tune. Here are a couple of examples.

WEEK OF NOV 1-5

This week the class will be looking at art and the Renaissance.

On Monday, we will have a quiz on the Protestant Reformation.

On Tuesday, we will introduce the Renaissance and the influence of Greek and Roman culture. This will be followed by looking at the principals of art.

On Wednesday, we will put the principals of art to the test together by looking at some pictures of art. We will also take some notes on the different schools of art and practice this information.

On Thursday and Friday we will be working on Renaissance Art Project. The direction sheet will be found here.

OCT 25- OCT 29

This week we are catching up from the safety drill last week. SO

Monday we will be working on Reformation and Martin Luther through a reading.

Tuesday we will be making a Wanted Poster on Martin Luther.

Some classes still have to finish the notes that can be found here.

WEEK OF OCT 18-22

On Monday of this week, we will review for a test on Tuesday. Tuesday's test is on the Middle Ages. Wednesday, we will introduce the Protestant Reformation and the Renaissance. Thursday the students will be assigned a homework packet. We will be looking at Martin Luther and the beginnings of the reformation. Friday we will be making wanted posters for Martin Luther. There will be a homework packet due on Tuesday Oct 26.

WEEK OF OCT 12-15

We will be looking at Cathederals on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, we will be monks and learning about monestaries and monk life. We will be listening to Gregorian Chants on Thursday.

WEEK OF OCT 4 - OCT 8

This week  on Monday we will finish up castles and discuss punishment in the Middle Ages. We will be looking at the Crusades on Tuesday.  Wednesday we will be in the computer lab for a day on the project. Thursday we will be learning about the plague or black death. Friday, will be looking at the impact of the Church during the Middle Ages and what is Christianity.

WEEK OF SEPT 27- OCT 1

WEEK OF SEPT 20-24

This week the homework packet will be due on Wednesday.

The students will be covering Feudalism, the manor life and castles. The students will also be signing in to edline Tuesday and making a google account to work with this year.

On Wednesday the students will be designing castles of their own.

Thursday is camp clark field trip.

Friday we will be finishing castles by watching a short movie that provides a nice view of life in the Middle Ages

WEEK OF SEPT 13-17

This week we will be studying a group of people who worship the Rac. We will be reviewing map places and filling in some maps to see students knowledge. In the second part of the week will be starting the Middle Ages.

On Wednesday, the $5 and permission slip for camp clark is due.


Scrapbook will be due Wednesday for Honors, Thursday for everyone else. Directions can be found on week 1 and 3/4
